Imagine this...do you know "that guy?" That guy who is just clueless. He has no idea how he affects the people around him.
So you have a busy day at work, not bad, just hectic. The kind of day where you have to be in two places at one time. The one place you decide to choose gets cancelled and rescheduled to a later time, but it is too late to go to the other place you wanted to be, so you are stuck with this idle time that you can't really do anything with. It leaves you anxious cause you have so much to do. It isn't enough time to do something else cause the something else will take too long to organize the people involved and by the time you get it organized to do you have something else you should be doing...so this is the day you are having. Now get in your car to go home. Home is where you let everything go and decide to worry about it tomorrow, cause it will all still be there. This means you have unzipped your tolerance armor, you sigh and just release. Unfortunately though when you get in the car there is this guy...or should I say "that guy." The guy that doesn't know when to shut up. Being a female in the military I have gained a high tolerance for many things. Being sensitive is not a positive trait. When you are at work you tend to get desensitized to the "man talk." I am not talking about the vulgar stuff, just general man talk. When you come home though it is time to let your hair down and get into the "female costume." Anyway, so you get into the car and the "sea stories" begin. One in particular got under my armor. Like I have already mentioned I am one of the "cooler chicks" when it comes to these things. I know not all women can sustain the appearance of being unaffected for long, and that is ok. Everyone has their levels of acceptance. I will be honest and say like men in a woman's world, all females do not set the greatest example of how we woman want to be portrayed. So..."that guy" is telling a story about some girl he was working with. Talking about how dumb and crazy she was. I know there are dumb cray girls like there are dumb crazy guys, but something about the way he was talking was getting under my skin. I am sure this girl didn't deserve the "cool chick" title but this guy wasn't in a place to be pointing the finger in my opinion either. He was describing how she was doing her job and how at one point she threw a hammer at him. He was calling her a dumb bitch and my hair stood up, my claws came out, and there was a low growl in my throat. I didn't know this girl from Eve but I was ready to defend her, even knowing she is probably one of these females that piss me off cause their actions cause us to be set back a decade. I was ready to fight cause I know from first hand experience that being a female in the military can strip you of your natural feminine ways and that can be hard to deal with....but I thought about the energy involved, about even acknowledging his lame story...he probably deserved the hammer, but he didn't deserve my energy.
